From the pickup at the train station in Villach, to the very end,... read more the tour was faultless. The bikes we received were brand new, the accommodation choices were excellent, and even though it wasn't a gastronomic tour, the food and wine along the way were excellent.
I cannot recommend Visit Goodplace highly enough. Everything was well thought out and perfectly organised. The route choices were great as we rarely encountered any real traffic and were often on small back roads, or even on forest paths and bike paths. The only time it was a bit busier was at the end, on the last leg into Piran, but that was to be expected as it is a popular seaside destination.
If I was to do it again, I would plan more time to allow for the possibility of spending more than one night in some locations.
This was our second visit to Slovenia and we will surely be back for more.

We done the Trans Slovenia 04 tour which is tough!!! but absolutely worth the uphill climbs for the epic downhill runs.
The route selection given via a GPX file was spot on. Slovenia is a stunning country and travelling from the north to south you get to see it all.
Several of the accommodations I would love to go back to with my wife they were that stunning. After cycling all day climbing to peaks over 1600 meters you hope for a comfy room to stay that night and what we got was far greater than what we hoped for. Picturesque properties that were clean, tidy, spacious and the people running them were super friendly.
As expected I had some bike issues half way through the trip and being Sunday all bike shops were shut but Katja from Visit Good Place had someone collect my bike within an hour to fix it. Great company!!

  The tour was just fantastic! Far better than we expected. Slovenia is a beautiful country with mountains, rivers and incredible wildness. Often we have encountered no other people all day... read more and were traveling alone in this breathtaking mountain world. Day 5 we had made the Classic route (hard), but with a short cut of 20km and 1000hm less by first being transported by a shuttle to Livek. I would recommend that to anyone who is not a super athlete. The tour on the Matajur and then the endless singletrack down to Italy and from there back to the Brda area is still a crack. The tour was very exhausting, but feasible. If necessary, there was always the opportunity to take an Easy variant. We had done that on day 6, when it was just too hot and could only make about 80 instead of the 90 km. Actually, all tour segments were great. First, the wild Julian Alps with the Soca River and then the transition to the Mediterranean Karst Mountains. Except for the hotel Kompas in Kranjska Gora we liked everything very much. The tour was packed with singletrack, which was our goal. Also the people in Slovenia were really nice. We always ate great, whenever possible local dishes. Particularly noteworthy are the good wines that we could test everywhere. The wine area around Tolmin is incredibly beautiful and the old town invites you to linger. The arrival in Piran is then an incredible satisfaction and you can jump to cool off into the sea. Of the hotels we liked best the Hotel St. Martin in Tolmin and the hotel Piran in Piran. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again. We will definitely book a tour again. …

  I just completed a three day tour with master-guide, Petra Draskovic Pelc. She is the most knowledgable, switched-on and fun guide that I can imagine, and I have been a... read more tour operator myself. The countryside was beautiful and full of animal sign - we did see wolf and bear prints in the mud - and we heard all sorts of owls and roe and red dear engaged in rutting behavior. The European virgin forest was fabulous. Petra went all out to make sure I and our party of four others had a top notch experience. This trip (more like a wilderness adventure) has my wholehearted recommendation.

La première partie de la journée était consacrée à une balade en forêt pour repérer les traces d'ours et autres animaux, puis en fin de journée, nous avons rejoint une cabane d'observation pour attendre la venue des ours. Nous y sommes restés 3 heures et avons vu 3 ours ainsi que quelques chevreuils.
Excellente journée. Dommage que l'observation des ours ne commence pas plus tôt car la lumière était un peu faible.

Even though our Easyjet plane was very late landing our transfer was eventually... read more found and we ended up in this Family run Hotel for the first night. We meet our fellow cyclists in the morning and our guide Ana. The touring bikes hired were perfect for the trip, well maintained and spares given - (required later on). Each day we had a perfect breakfast buffet in each of the hotels and fabulous food at each stop over. The cycling was on empty roads and tracks with only a few busy stretches. Each day had an event of the local area which was great. We did find the limit of prosciutto as it seemed to have a limitless supply. We eat out in local restaurants or at the hotel. We found the beer and wine fantastic value as this was our only cost except for one night where we had an 8 course tasting menu where it seemed to be expensive compared to the rest of Slovenia. My wife said it was the best holiday she had been on which wasn't dampened by the thunder storms and the last day. Visit good place said we could keep the bikes for an extra day as we were going home late that night. Nothing seemed to be a trouble and Ana was a fabulous guide with exceptional knowledge and enthusiasm for Slovenia. Looking to book another trip next year.
